After 43 years of dedicated service to the PVF industry, Joe Pro, Chairman of Pennsylvania Machine Works, has announced his retirement, effective July 4, 2025. This marks the end of an era for a leader who has left an indelible mark on Penn Machine and the industry as a whole. We at LPW are honored to celebrate his incredible career and lasting contributions.
Joe’s journey with Penn Machine began in 1984 when he joined as Assistant Controller. Over the decades, his leadership qualities and deep industry knowledge saw him take on roles with increasing responsibility, including USDF Plant Manager, Operations Manager, and eventually President and Chairman. Under his guidance, Penn Machine grew into a trusted, nationally recognized name among major distributors and end-users.
His influence extended well beyond the company. Joe held various key positions with the PVF Roundtable Board of Directors, the ASA IPD Executive Council, and as an Associate Member of the Pipe-Fabricators Institute. These roles enabled him to learn from the industry’s best and brightest while helping to shape its future.
In recognition of his unwavering dedication, the PVF Roundtable has approved Joe Pro’s induction into its Hall of Fame. The organization recognized his remarkable leadership, which resulted in significant growth in both membership and scholarship donations to colleges and trade schools.
A Legacy of Friendship and Integrity
Reflecting on his career, Joe has always emphasized the importance of the relationships he built. In his farewell message, he shared his gratitude for the friendships and memories that will last a lifetime.
“I will never be able to repay the kindness, respect, and support I have received from all of you,” Joe stated, acknowledging the colleagues, customers, and friends who shaped his journey. “Meeting with customers has always been the highlight of my duties.”
He leaves behind what he describes as “the most talented group we have ever assembled” at Penn Machine. While he will remain a consultant to Penn Machine and LPW Group on an as-needed basis, he has full confidence in the teams’ ability to continue the legacy of excellence.
Wishing a Legend All the Best
Joe Pro’s career is a testament to integrity, leadership, and a steadfast love for the PVF industry. His contributions have shaped not only a company but also the lives of those who had the privilege of working with him.
Thank you, Joe, for your wisdom, your kindness, and your incredible contributions. We wish you a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement.
